The Circular Food Systems (CFS) Network works to bridge research, innovation, and policymaking to accelerate the transition towards circular food systems. Building on insights from our projects, workshops and case studies, we translate practical experiences into evidence and recommendations that can support policy development at local, national, and international levels.

Our policy activities focus on creating enabling conditions for circular food systems, including nutrient recycling, food loss and waste valorisation, circular business models, and transformative change. We contribute to international discussions on sustainable and circular bioeconomy, support the development of indicators and assessment frameworks, and promote governance approaches that place collaboration, inclusiveness, and food security at the centre of the transition.

Through policy briefs, stakeholder dialogues, and engagement with public authorities and international organisations, the CFS Network helps ensure that circular food system innovations can move beyond pilot projects and become embedded in long-term strategies and policies for sustainable food systems transformation.
